Data controller

The data controller is:

Guggli Association
Via Luigi Giudici
6864 Arzo, Switzerland
info@gugg.li

This policy applies to the public gugg.li portal and its related forms.

Member management platform (app.gugg.li) and Guggli mobile app

The app.gugg.li management platform, including when used through the Guggli mobile app, is reserved for members and collaborators of Guggen organisations that use the platform.

The data controller for members' data is the individual Guggen organisation to which they belong; Guggli Association provides the technical infrastructure and acts as a data processor on behalf of the Guggen organisation, with the same providers and safeguards indicated above.

For members, in addition to the technical data already described, we process:

We retain this data for the duration of membership in the Guggen organisation and subsequently for the period required by statutory accounting record retention obligations (normally 10 years, Art. 958f CO).

The rights described above also apply to this data; requests should be addressed to the committee of the relevant Guggen organisation or, if it cannot be identified, to info@gugg.li.

Data we process

Most of gugg.li can be used without registration.

When you use our forms, we may process the data required for the requested function, such as your name, email address, phone number, message, affiliation with a Guggen or information about an event.

We may also process technical data such as IP address, date and time of requests and device information, strictly for operation, security and abuse prevention.

Data from public sources

The gugg.li directory also contains information collected from publicly accessible sources such as official websites, associations, organisers, event calendars and public social media pages.

This information may include the Guggen name, location, website, social media profiles, public contact details and events.

Whenever possible, we prioritise organisation contact details over personal contact details of individual persons.

Where we process data relating to an individual, such as the name of a responsible person or a personal contact published in connection with their role, processing is limited to what is necessary for the directory.

Anyone wishing to correct, update or request the removal of data can contact us at info@gugg.li.

Why we process data

We use data to:

We do not sell personal data and do not use it for advertising profiling.

Service providers and international processing

We use several technical service providers:

Hostinger — VPS and database hosting, Frankfurt, Germany.

Hostpoint AG — domain email services, Switzerland.

Brevo — sending automated and transactional emails; main infrastructure in the European Union, particularly France, Germany and Belgium.

Backblaze B2 — infrastructure backups in the EU Central region, Amsterdam, Netherlands. Backblaze is a US company and certain technical or administrative processing may also involve the United States.

Where processing takes place in a country requiring additional safeguards, we use the mechanisms provided by Swiss law and by our agreements with the relevant providers.

Cookies and location

The public portal does not use advertising or profiling cookies.

app.gugg.li uses necessary technical cookies, for example to maintain an authenticated session.

The “Use my location” feature requires browser permission and uses the location only to show nearby Guggen organisations or events. It is not used for advertising purposes.

Retention and security

We keep data only for as long as necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, for legal obligations and for service security.

Technical data, completed requests and backups are deleted or overwritten according to the system's normal management cycles.

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect data against unauthorised access, alteration, loss or disclosure.

Sharing with Guggen organisations

When you use gugg.li to contact or apply to join a Guggen, the necessary data is sent to the intended Guggen organisation.

From that point onward, the Guggen organisation is responsible for the processing it carries out independently on the data received.

Your rights

You may request information about personal data we process about you and, where applicable, request its correction, deletion or restriction of processing.

You may also request the review, updating or removal of personal data published in the directory.
